In anticipation of International Women’s Day on March 8, we encourage you to highlight some of the most groundbreaking women in history. These inspiring individuals have not only challenged norms; they have created new guidelines, shaped culture, and left lasting imprints in science, art, sports, leadership, and social change. 

Here, you will find stories from 100 outstanding women from around the world, spanning history to the present day. Each card features different historical and contemporary pioneers who have fought for equality, justice, and positive change. These courageous women have revolutionized their fields as activists, rebellious spirits, and heroes, and their significant contributions have left a lasting impact for future generations. Their achievements continue to inspire and pave the way for future leaders. 

This collection is not just a reminder of their extraordinary efforts; it encourages us to believe that nothing is impossible when we act with passion and perseverance. 

Each story is accompanied by icebreaker questions on various topics – small yet powerful tools that foster authentic conversations and build bridges between people. These questions provide you with a wonderful opportunity to share your interests and perspectives, promote community, and open doors to profound discussions about values, dreams, and challenges in life. 

This collection is not just a reminder of their extraordinary contributions; it encourages us to believe that nothing is impossible when we act with passion and perseverance. 

These 100 cards contain brief facts about each woman, complemented by a picture and an accompanying icebreaker question that can be used in various ways. One suggestion is to display each card on a smartboard so the entire class can see it, creating an opportunity for everyone to participate. Afterward, each student has a chance to answer the associated question, opening up the floor for deeper discussion. 

The material is particularly suitable for use on International Women’s Day on March 8 to honor this important day, but it can of course be used year-round in history lessons in social studies, Swedish, and Swedish as a second language. It is designed for students from grade 4 up to high school, but can also be beneficially used with younger students in elementary school, depending on their level of maturity.
