The material “The backpack about me” offers an exciting opportunity for each student to share their unique stories, including their interests and talents.
The material “Ryggsäcken om mig” is also available for download in Swedish.
This is an excellent activity for students starting preschool or those entering grade 1, and it can also be adapted for older ages.
The assignment includes creative picture and craft activities along with simpler writing exercises, all with clear instructions to support the learning process. Students can choose from four different backpacks and access the information letter “Everything About Me.” This includes ten related tasks:
– Selfie, with first and last name
– How old they are and when they were born
– Favorite subject
– Hobby
– Favorite book
– What they are good at
– Where they live
– Favorite season
– What they want to be when they grow up
Additionally, there is a structured six-step guide, which can easily be displayed on a smartboard during the craft session, allowing students to proudly showcase and present their own backpacks. The description can also be downloaded separately.
To introduce this picture assignment to younger students, it may be a good idea for you as a teacher to first create your own backpack with a presentation about yourself. This can make the task more engaging and inspiring for the students.
